A good presentation is not all about the material (the soft copy) that you have prepared for displaying in front of your audience. If you’re only being a good reader, unfortunately, you won’t be heard! Unless the slides are very unclear, or, you are not ready with a printout, do you really need to read out those lines plainly? No, and if you do, you are not being heard!

Office presentations, therefore, go hand in hand with some presentation essentials, or you might call it your presentation kit. So, before getting on to action, make sure that these presentation essentials come in handy!

Your primary presentation kit

The must-carry kit should have the following things - handouts (of the presentation) for the audience, a backup of the presentation in your pen drive or CD, the contact information of the technical personnel at your office, evaluation forms, etc.

That was all about the kit. Among the few other essentials, the laptop is an obvious choice. A mouse pad, headphones (if you use them), a VGA adapter, remote (with a built-in laser pointer) are the other things to be named.

Backup batteries

Even if the laptop is new, carrying a second battery is always advisable. An electrical source might not come in handy wherever you need to conduct your presentation. A universal power supply is a highly useful thing for your presentations! That’s because the day you don’t have a backup battery your laptop battery is sure to fade out!

Universal power supplies are getting smaller, cheaper, and lighter these days too!

A portable timer is often of great use

Is the laptop clock visible from a distance? Perhaps not! Portable timers are therefore of help – they assist you to stay on track, especially, when you are time-bound! The timer would have a large display that silently reminds you from a distance that you need to stick to brevity while explicating things and/or have to conclude upon your topic.

Keeping a good track of time and an all-encompassed explanation of the subject in the discussion are some of the best practices of a perfect office presentation.

The sound accessories

The main purpose of your presentation is that of being heard. What better than the mini speakers that come equipped with chargeable batteries. If the room is a large one, your external speakers should be powerful enough to fill the room with a clear and soothing sound of the speaker’s voice. You could also go for a boombox with an auxiliary input – you only need a small cable with mini-plugs on either end.

Bottled water

This one's a bit confusing as you'll get a bottle of water almost everywhere. But in case you don't you'll feel miserable and that too in the middle of your explaining session! That will be both embarrassing and baffling for you in the midst of your presentation.

Let the little things not derail your presentation. A little more carefulness, a little bit of testing the technical issues, and a little more preparedness could help you deliver your best. So, why not go for that?
