It's been a while that summer has rolled in and amidst all the Covid restrictions you're strongly hoping to reconnect with friends, aren't you? While hitting the shopping mall or other hangouts in the town to meet up with your friends isn't much of an option under the present environs, you have a lot to do to make the most of this summer season.
Seasonal bucket lists are a good choice. At least, you don't have to brood over not being able to get your hands on them once the season comes to a close! Childhood is a precious time when summers are all about plucking berries (even if the stomach aches) and picking zinnias from the garden of your house. Adulthood needs something more to wipe off the everyday stress and let you start afresh!
Here's a resourceful read on interesting things that you could save to deal with your summer boredom?
Hosting a barbeque
In most of America, summer is quintessentially a grilling season. Indeed, for some, grilling is an addiction and they are usually the grill masters of the family! So, there's a natural inclination to call up friends for a backyard grilling party. It means lesser kitchen utensils to be cleaned up plus some extra merrymaking time (while the food grills on its own)!
Find out the best foods that you could throw on the grill apart from your favorite chicken breasts. It could be some roasted pork or oven-roasted beef brisket with condiments by the side. Seasonings could include grilled veggies and some grilled lemon too!
Time for some homemade ice cream?
The hot summers make us crave those icy-cold ice-creams, don't they? Are you waiting to hang out with your friends at the bistro or your favorite ice-cream parlor in town to gorge on that lip-smacking sundae? What if you could make one with simple homemade ingredients? Today, you even have the ice cream makers in the market for some quick and easy ice cream preparations!
Go for some cool beverages
While sitting in the backyard or your balcony on a sunny afternoon, sip on a refreshing drink. To name a few, I'll mention this first: water is the best drink! But I know you weren't reading on to hear this! For beverages, you could go for some coconut water, a glass of fat-free skimmed milk (take it chilled), or a fruit smoothie! The best summer smoothies are watermelon and/or strawberry smoothies. Flavored tea, say, a cup of mint tea feels refreshing too.
Let's talk a little about alcoholic beverages. Be it iced beer or some cold caffeinated drink, alcohol is not a good choice for hot summers! They are diuretic and influences other hydrating liquids to run out of the body faster. They reduce the amount of anti-diuretic hormone in the body, increasing urination and finally dehydrating the person!
Jump into that pool
Swimming is one of the finest stress relievers! And by swimming, I meant a full dive that soaks all of your hair too. Simply dog paddling with your head above the water level will not let you relax the way you wanted to be! This summer, let nothing stop you from experiencing the best in life.
Berry-picking
Post the month of May, many go out berry picking too. You only need to hunt for the berry-picking firms in your area. Countryside people are at a greater advantage than the ones dwelling in the hustling and bustling cities. Visiting the u-pick-berry firms in your vicinity? It’s a great summer activity you'll miss once the season is gone!
There is an ample amount of summer activities out there. And that makes you wait for the next one eagerly. From beachside fun to blooming gardens, summers all about exploring!
